Quick summary
If you grant location permission, Abfahrtstafel Berlin uses your device location while the App is in use to request nearby stops from VBB.
Location is not sold, and Abfahrtstafel Berlin does not use location for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
When you pin stops, save filters, create commute schedules, or change preferences (such as auto-refresh), that information is stored on your device using Apple frameworks (including SwiftData).
If iCloud is enabled for the App, that information may sync through Apple CloudKit / iCloud so it is available on your other devices signed into the same Apple Account. Apple provides that sync infrastructure; Abfahrtstafel Berlin does not operate a separate user account system and does not host that data on Abfahrtstafel Berlin servers.
Abfahrtstafel Berlin can schedule local notifications for commute reminders and can start Live Activities to show departure progress on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
These features run on your device. Abfahrtstafel Berlin does not use remote push notifications for Live Activities.
To show departures and journey details, Abfahrtstafel Berlin sends requests over HTTPS to VBB’s public transport API (for example stop search, nearby stops, departure boards, and journey details). Those requests may include stop identifiers, search text, and — when you use nearby search — approximate coordinates.
VBB’s handling of data is governed by VBB’s own terms and privacy policy. Abfahrtstafel Berlin does not control VBB’s practices.
